Privacy policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
The Spanish version of this policy prevails in case of discrepancy.
1. Controller
Stock Signal Lab (stocksignallab.com), a personal project with no commercial activity, run from Spain. Contact for any privacy matter: contacto@stocksignallab.com.
2. In short
- There are no accounts or ads. The only form is the optional email newsletter: it keeps your email only once you confirm it, and deletes it when you unsubscribe.
- The server does not keep a visit log with your IP address.
- Only if you accept, we use Google Analytics to count visits. If you do not, nothing from Google is loaded.
- Your preferences (language, theme) are stored in your own browser and sent nowhere.
- We do not sell or share data with anyone.
3. What data we process and why
a) Visit statistics with Google Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept in the cookie notice, Google Analytics 4 collects a random identifier stored in a cookie, the sections you visit, the date and time, your device and browser type, language, the site you came from and an approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off: the data is not used for advertising.
- Purpose: to know how many people use Stock Signal Lab and which parts they find useful.
- Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time from "Cookie settings" at the foot of the site.
- Retention: Google keeps this data for 2 months; the cookies expire after 2 years or when you delete them or withdraw consent.
- Who processes it: Google Ireland Limited, as processor. Google may process data in the United States; it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, recognised by the European Commission as an adequate safeguard.
b) Technical operation of the server. To deliver the site, the server necessarily receives your IP address and the technical details of the request. We do not keep them in a visit log. They may only appear in technical error or security logs, which are deleted automatically by rotation within a few days.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing the service and keeping it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Hosting: OVHcloud, in a data centre in Canada. The European Commission recognises Canada as providing an adequate level of protection.
c) Email. If you write to us, we use your address and what you tell us only to reply, and keep it as long as needed to deal with your request. Legal basis: your request and our legitimate interest in answering it.
d) Storage in your browser. Stock Signal Lab stores in your own browser (localStorage) your language, your theme, the date of your last visit (to mark what is new) and your cookie choice; the latter also in a technical first-party cookie (mm_consent, 12 months). This data does not leave your device. You can delete it from your browser settings.
e) Email newsletter (only if you subscribe). If you sign up for the newsletter, we keep your email address, the frequency you chose (daily or weekly), the date you signed up and the date and version of the text you confirmed. We use it only to send you the newsletter (in English). Legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the box and confirming with the link we email you (without that confirmation you receive nothing and the address is deleted after 7 days). The emails are sent from our own mail server, on the same server as the website; we use no third-party sending service and do not track whether you open them. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link: using it deletes your address and its delivery records (which are deleted after 35 days in any case).
4. What we do not do
We do not build profiles, make automated decisions about you, use your data for advertising or sell it. Fonts are served from our own server (not Google Fonts). News links lead to third-party sites with their own policies.
5. Your rights
You can request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, object to its processing, ask for its restriction or portability and withdraw your consent at any time by writing to contacto@stocksignallab.com. Since we do not ask for any identifying data, finding your Google Analytics data would require the identifier in your _ga cookie; the simplest option is to withdraw consent and delete the cookies.
If you believe your rights have not been properly handled, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or to the authority of your country.
6. Children
Stock Signal Lab is not aimed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their data.
7. Changes
If what we do with data changes (for example, if ads are shown in the future), we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent again.
